ACOG Releases New Guidelines for Low Risk Moms

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) has released a new set of guidelines for the care of low risk mothers during labor and delivery. They include delaying hospital admission to the hospital until at least 5-6 cm dilation, intermittent monitoring of fetal heart tones, and recognizes the benefits of continuous emotional care, as is provided by a doula.
