Birth and Postpartum Doula, Educator, & Placenta Encapsulator

Postpartum Visit.jpeg

I am a Christian birth & postpartum support provider serving ALL families. I am the mother of 2 adult children, and have 23 years of experience as a doula and prenatal educator. I support all births attended by a provider, regardless of the birth plan; delivering at home, a birth center or hospital and including high risk and VBAC.

My intention as a birth doula is to help you experience your birth in a way that doesn’t feel like it is being done to you as a medical procedure. I do this by helping you to create a birth plan, teaching you how to advocate for yourself, and provide you with resources to prepare your body, mind and spirit for birth. This is a story that you will remember well and relive with every telling. It is important to me that your memories include feeling respected, considered and supported no matter how your baby decides to arrive. I walk by your side through your pregnancy, labor and birth as a tour guide to you and your partner praying for you, providing informational, physical and emotional support.

As a postpartum doula I help you adjust to the new family member in the household by teaching you how to pick up on your baby’s cues, follow their innate routine, and provide tips and tricks to make it all a little easier (feeding, sleeping, soothing techniques). I help you to find the places in your day for self-care (time for yourself, showers & naps); because I believe that by taking care of yourself, you are better able to respond instinctively, use patience and get creative, while giving yourselves and your baby the grace you all need in figuring things out.
