Birth and Postpartum Doula
I was born in Northern California and raised in San Diego, California. Two months ago my boyfriend and I packed up my car and two dogs and relocated to Georgia! I began my career as a caregiver in 2011 at the ripe age of 18! I have been a career nanny for nearly 12 years, I have taught grades K-5th, and for the past 5 years I have been motivated to shift my path and focus towards birth and postpartum support.
I have continued to develop my expertise over the past 12 years and received my Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Psychology with a minor in Child Development in 2015 from the University of California, San Diego. In 2017 I received my multi-subject teaching credential for grades K-5th and in 2019 I received my pregnancy, birth, postpartum doula certification through DONA and Newborn Care Specialist Certification through One Moon Doula.
I can confidently say that being a caregiver is my purpose. It is what has guided me and sustained me my entire life and I know will continue to do so for years to come. It has shifted the pain of being raised without a mother since I was an infant and has helped me make an impact on the world, one mom at a time.
I believe birth belongs to women, and in a society that rushes away pregnancy, we can choose to honor it. Every birth is special, and everyone can benefit from having a doula every step of the way. My gift to others as a doula and birth worker is helping them walk this journey themselves.
