Sara Tettelbach and Emily Watkins

Birth Doulas

I’m a trained birth doula and registered nurse. I’ve been working in the health care field for more than a decade. I use my background to help families navigate through their pregnancy feeling confident in their choices and birth team. While I’ve always held a passion for women’s health, the birth of my two children really brought home my desire to help families before, during, and after their pregnancies. I believe that a person should have the tools to advocate for themselves; it’s my mission to help you gain those tools and the confidence to use them. When I'm not working I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids playing board games, going on hikes, and putting puzzles together.

MEET Emily

I’m a DONA-certified birth (since 2013) and postpartum doula. I have attended over 100 births to date and assisted over 40 families during the postpartum months. Prior to becoming a doula, I worked in health care and a variety of nursing applications for 8 years, eventually honing in on my passion for supporting expecting and birthing families. When I’m not attending births or assisting families, I can be found doing life with my husband, 2 daughters, and dog. I love learning about herbs and plants, experimenting in the kitchen and enjoying an afternoon of live music.

Sara and Emily were such an incredible support during the birth of our third child. My husband and I were both supported through the process and were so happy to have them available for all of our questions/concerns leading up to the birth and in person during labor and delivery. I couldn't imagine having gone through this experience without Sara present. Thank you for everything!

Our family had the honor of having Emily and Sara as our Doulas for the birth of our first child. I don't know what we would have done without them. Our daughter ended up being over a week late, so Emily and Sara helped support us through all the questions and pros / cons of induction (we'd wanted an unmedicated birth). During labor (since it was COVID and they could not be in person), Sara who was on call our day was texting constantly with my husband and when it came time to push was on Zoom cheering me on and giving suggestions for different positions to help move the labor along. But they didn't end there, as first time parents in a pandemic (i.e., family couldn't come stay with us) we've had so many questions, which Emily and Sara answer right away. They turned what could have been a stressful and scary experience into a wonderful one that ended with our beautiful baby girl. Thank you, Emily and Sara!
