Hi, my name is Stephanie. I am a DONA certified birth doula, postpartum doula, certified lactation educator counselor, and certified American Heart Association BLS/CPR instructor. I am an Atlanta native and now reside just north of the city with my husband of 23 years, Jeff, and our 19-year-old son, Hunter. When I am not with my clients or teaching a class, I enjoy hiking, sewing, going to the gym, and spending time with family and friends.

When a longtime childhood friend asked me to support her during the home birth of her second child as well as photograph the experience, I gladly accepted. A few years later, she asked me to be there again for the birth of her third child. A year later I was asked by another childhood friend, if I would participate in the hospital birth of her daughter and be her doula. All three of these experiences had a profound effect on me. These experiences, in addition to becoming a mother myself, allowed me to discover the passion I would have for becoming a Doula.

Since becoming a doula, I have worked with families giving birth in both home and hospital environments. I have also worked with couples who have conceived after struggling with infertility. As a mom myself to a son who was conceived via In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF), I have both the professional and personal knowledge that allows me to provide the additional support and insight that is sometimes needed by these couples.

As a doula I am dedicated to educating, supporting, and assisting families so that they have the best possible experience bringing their little ones into the world, no matter if they are becoming a parent for the first time or the fifth. Knowing that every couple’s needs are different, I tailor the support that I provide to each client’s individual needs and desires.

Testimonials

Samantha

There's not enough space on this form to express how much Stephanie meant to my husband and I during the 24 hour labor that brought our second and last child into the world. Because of a blood incompatibility issue I was induced at 39 weeks and the day that I spent I labor was calm and controlled until the very end. Stephanie maintained a high level of professionalism in spite of a rude  nurse and disappearing doctor. She helped us achieve our goal of no epidural in the face of back labor and pitocin! I could not recomemd her any higher for both the experienced and first time mother! If our family wasn't complete I'd be hiring her again.

Stephanie Wagner is meant to be a doula. She's resourceful, practical, upfront, and honest. Her diverse background provides a good link between holistic approaches and standard medical care. Her methods incorporate both realms. Her techniques gently pushes clients to think outside of their comfort zones by opening their eyes to various scenarios and options. If it hadn't been for Stephanie's preparation I would have given in to fear and panic in an undesirable situation during delivery. She helped me to fully embrace the potential for things to go differently than expected, as births often do. I am grateful for her support and presence during my entire pregancy and birth.

Stephanie was a fantastic doula to work with!  She made our VBAC birth experience stress free as she supported each decision and provided more natural and non-medical pain relief options (Hello, TENS unit!), positioning help (even after an epidural) and loads of fantastic information!  I would highly recommend her to anyone, whether VBAC, FTM or other for that extra support often needed during labor!
